Upcoming folk music festivals in California:

The free Adams Avenue Unplugged music festival (formerly Roots Festival) will run from 11-9 on April 21 and noon to seven on April 22, 2012 in San Diego. Follow Adams Avenue Unplugged on Facebook.

The American River Music Festival is September 14-16, 2012 in Coloma, one hour east of Sacramento.

The Berkeley Old Time Music Convention will be held September 12- 16, 2012 in Berkeley, California. Follow the festival on Facebook.

The Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival will be held June 29-July 1, 2012 at the Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville. It take a little over three hours to drive to Laytonville from Sacramento or San Francisco. Follow the festival on twitter @katefest and on Facebook.

The Live Oak Music Festival will be held over Father’s Day weekend, June 15-17. The festival is held in the hills north of Santa Barbara on SR 154 near Cachuma Lake. Follow the festival on Facebook.

The 36th annual San Francisco Folk Festival will be held June 9-10, 2012 from noon to 10pm each day at the Presidio Middle School. Follow the festival on Facebook.

Festival performer applications are no longer being accepted unless otherwise noted here. For the most part, application cut-off dates for spring and summer music festivals end in December of the preceding year.
